This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and share user data. By using Wren, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy.
1. Data Collection
Wren collects the following types of data:
-
Email Content: To function as an email assistant, Wren reads your incoming emails from your connected Outlook account. This includes:
- Message Content: The subject, body, sender, and recipients of emails in your inbox to determine which emails need a reply.
- Thread History: Previous messages in a conversation thread to draft contextually appropriate replies.
Email content is processed in real-time to draft replies. It is not stored on any server controlled by us.
-
Microsoft Account Information: When you connect your Outlook account, we receive basic profile information (name, email address) through Microsoft's OAuth flow. This is used solely to identify your account and sign off emails on your behalf.
-
Local Preferences & Settings: Your extension preferences are stored locally on your device using Chrome's storage APIs. This includes:
- Your display name for email sign-offs.
- Your AI provider selection and API key.
- Check interval and auto-reply preferences.
- Pending drafts awaiting your review.
- Activity log entries.
This data is never transmitted to any server controlled by us.
- License Information: If you have purchased a Pro license, your license key and activation status are stored locally on your device and verified with Gumroad's servers to confirm your purchase.
Note: We prioritize your privacy and do not collect or store any information beyond what is necessary for the functionalities of our extension. We never resell your personal information to other services or companies.
2. How We Use Data
We use the collected data for the following purposes:
- Email Processing: We read your inbox to identify emails that need a reply, draft appropriate responses, and send or save them as drafts for your review. All processing happens via your chosen AI provider's API.
- License Validation: We verify your license key with Gumroad's servers to confirm your purchase and ensure proper activation limits are respected.
- Feature Access: We use your license status to enable or disable Pro features within the extension.
- Preference Storage: We store your settings locally so your preferences persist across sessions on the same device.
3. Data Sharing
We share the collected data with:
- Microsoft: Wren communicates with Microsoft Graph API to read your emails and send replies through your Outlook account. Your Microsoft OAuth tokens are stored locally on your device. You can review Microsoft's privacy practices at privacy.microsoft.com.
- Your AI Provider: Email content is sent to your chosen AI provider (OpenAI or Google Gemini) to generate draft replies. You provide your own API key, and your data is subject to the provider's privacy policy.
- Gumroad: We send license validation requests to Gumroad's servers to verify the purchase status of Pro users. You can review their privacy practices at gumroad.com/privacy.
Note: Our data sharing practices are strictly limited to the services listed above. We never share, distribute, or resell your personal information to any other services or companies.
4. Data Storage
Wren stores data as follows:
- Local Storage: Your Microsoft OAuth tokens, AI API key, license key, Pro status, extension preferences, pending drafts, and activity logs are stored locally on your device using Chrome's secure storage APIs.
- No Server Storage: We do not operate any servers that store your personal information. All data remains on your device or with the third-party services listed above.
5. Third-Party Services
Wren uses the following third-party services:
-
Microsoft Graph API
[Microsoft Graph]: Provides access to your Outlook inbox for reading emails and sending replies.
-
OpenAI / Google Gemini: Processes email content to generate draft replies. You supply your own API key and choose your provider.
-
Gumroad
[gumroad.com]: Handles all payment processing, license key generation, and purchase verification.
Note: Our use of your data is strictly confined to the stated purposes above. We never use your personal data for any undisclosed reasons.
6. User Rights
Users have the right to access, rectify, or delete their personal data. Because Wren stores all data locally on your device, you can clear it at any time by removing the extension or clearing extension storage through your browser settings. You can also disconnect your Microsoft account at any time through the extension's settings, which revokes Wren's access to your inbox. If you wish to exercise any rights related to data held by Gumroad (such as purchase records), please contact Gumroad directly. 7. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this document. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
